I don't know if you are aware of our Greenwood Chamber of Commerce's Super Bowl plans. Our southside celebration began yesterday at the YMCA with an awesome array of events free to the public. In fact, businesses participating this week are giving away free stuff left and right as well as providing free Super Bowl related activities for the community.
Here is a link to the Chamber's line-up. Unfortunately, several of the phone numbers and website links are wrong, but the basic information is correct. I'm sure you can find the places without the website look-up.
One event is near and dear to our GAK hearts -- Wednesday's Super Bowl Sock Hop. This event is taking place in the German American Klub's ballroom from 5 - 7 p.m. The event is 100% free and expected to draw tons of people. There will be lots of doorprizes. Also, the restaurant will be open downstairs serving both full menu and the buffet. As a member, of course, your buffet dinner would be only $9.95, your kids only $5.95, and any of your guests would receive the membership price, too. If you order off the menu, you'll enjoy reduced prices, also. I think a little free sock-hopping followed by dinner would make for a fantastic Super Bowl Week Wednesday. Even if you don't participate in Wednesday's event, you might be interested in some of the other activities available this week. But, I sure hope to see you on Wednesday.
