Wednesday, November 1 – Buffet Night!
This week’s buffet will feature German Beef Casserole, Chicken in Heavy Cream, Curry Wurst and Sausages with Kraut. For sides, German Potato Salad, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Stewed Apples and plenty of cold salads! The full menu will also be available.
Saturday, November 4 – German Park Closing
The annual park closing will take place on Saturday, November 4 at 9:00 am. The Federation can use as many volunteers as possible in order to defray the costs of paying the maintenance workers to do some of the work. Please bring work gloves and rakes. If you have a couple of hours to spare that morning, come out and rake a pile or two of leaves or pick up sticks. Coffee and donuts will be provided with hot dogs, potato salad, chips and cookies later in the day. Should we wake up to substantial rains on Saturday, the closing will be Sunday, November 5 at 9:00 am.
Tuesday, November 7, 7:00 pm – Remembering the Protestant Reformation with Hon. Sven Schumacker
October 31 marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting of the famous “95 Theses” (or proposed topics of debate) which eventually set in motion the Protestant Reformation movement.
To mark this monumental anniversary, the GAK will sponsor a presentation by Sven Schumacher, Honorary Consulate for the Federal Republic of Germany, who will share with us images and information of Reformation that have both religious and historical importance. The Edelweiss Restaurant will be open at 5:00 for those who would like to dine before the presentation.
Please call the Klub to make reservations for the program and/or dinner: 317-888-6940.
